It looks like we’ll be staying in Roatan for hurricane season.
So, as we’ll be here for several months, we’re working on making plans for what we intend to get done over this period. There is, obviously, quite a bit of boatwork to do, (if you don’t know that either you don’t have a boat, or you have someone else maintain it). I know we need to check and fix the rudder that had a part broke when we came into Roatan. However, there are lots of other things to work on and fix and prepare for next winter’s trip to the Pacific.
In addition, we’re also starting to plan out personal and artistic goals as well!
Over this stay, I’ll be working on getting in better general health. I’m starting to work on eating more regularly (I have a long standing bad habit of eating tiny amounts once a day, and am working on bringing that up to a couple/few more healthy size meals.), and I’m also working on getting myself out walking more. …We are on a small island, off Roatan (but connected with a small bridge), which has a mostly lovely little path/road all the way around it. I’m making use of that and trying to make sure I walk around at least once a day, and will be increasing that through our visit. Artwise, when I visit the USA to see my mom, I’ll be bringing home some more of the items I want to keep working on projects, both photo and video.
Alan is also wanting to get into better shape, though in much better shape then me. I’m not sure what his plans are for that, other then kayaking, which we’ve started to do more often either before or after the heat of the day. He also has his art stuff that I’ll be bringing back from the USA too. He’s very excited about some projects he’s been thinking about for quite some time, as well as working with a friend to sell his engraved coins.
This week, I’ll be working on getting some interviews with my family about our experiences of Rio Dulce and making a video of those as well as some of the footage that we got from our several months there.
